In thinking about taking on the project I felt it would be exposing me more than I am used to. So just as an onion has many layers, so do each one of us (according to Shrek). It also ties in to photography as a tool I use in the editing process. By tackling this project I hope to grow personally as well as professionally during this next year. I will struggle with posting them each day, but will take the pictures and post them as soon as time allows. Enjoy the journey with me.

108 - I Love....

....scarves

I rarely go without a scarf around my neck when it is still a bit nippy. It keeps the chill off and adds a little texture and color to an outfit. My husband has enjoyed teasing me about it. He has asked if I will continue wearing them in the summer (I just may for the right scarf and the right outfit) and the other night when we were settling in for our nightly slumber I said I was cold and he offered to get my scarf for me....har har. So yes, I love my scarves. My favorite is the orange one in the middle. It's light and multicolored and I love it because we picked it up in Prague last year. I know laugh all you want Jillian.

...my children's touch; their hugs, kisses, hand holding, and snuggles.

This is my husbands hand underneath. Although, it may be hard to decipher between his and mine (I feel like my hands lean more towards manly than feminine), I was able to get a better angle using his. But you get the drift.

100 - Things I Love

For my 100th day I wanted to do something different...a theme for my picture of the day for the next little while. I am wanting to do this to stretch my imagination a little and peel back more layers of myself. So to start, I am going to take pictures of things I love. Some may be obvious and others may not, but I hope you enjoy what I come up with.

I will pick other themes as well in the future and if you come up with one that you would like me to tackle feel free to share.

For this shot......I love biking. Probably not as much as my husband, but in my own way, I love it. He introduced me to mountain biking when we were dating. He took me on Slick Rock in Moab for our first ride together and my first ride since I was in my teens. I was unprepared bringing jeans for my riding gear. Luckily, someone who came along with us had an extra pair of jean shorts which was better but not by much. I did the whole trail with no complaint. I had something to prove and wanted him to know he had a winner. I hope he still feels that way even though I may not tackle the trails like I used to. ;)

93 - Easter Apparel

Here is the result of my attempt at my daughters' Easter dresses. Nothing terribly fancy, but it was fun and they love them.

It was really windy today and they weren't it the most helpful of moods, so I had to make it quick. I gave little instruction....stand over there close to each other and this is what I got. I love it, but I wasn't fully ready and so it isn't quite perfect. I tried to replicate it, but was unsuccessful. I will show some of the others later. But love this one because of the feeling I feel between them when I look at it. I love capturing such pure and unscripted emotions.

91 - I ♥ Canvas

I wish there was some way I could convey to people how important printing is to the enjoyment of a photograph. I am a cheapskate so I myself try to find ways to accomplish something for less money. My opinion on photo processing is different. I worked for a couple of photo labs for several years and have formed my opinion on the importance of choosing a stand alone professional photo lab. Now, don't get me wrong, I myself print off some snapshots here and there at the nearest "photo center", but nothing that I want to display on my walls for multiple people to see. I feel it more important when you pay a professional photographer because a good photographer has the knowledge to paint a picture of you using light, to create beauty and art. How would Michelangelo's sculpture of David have turned out if he used mud instead of marble, or how would a symphony sound if it were recorded on an 8 track?

Now, please take this information for what it's worth. Use it as you see fit. I just want to steer people in the right direction when enlarging photos for display. This is what I do, this is my passion. So I pass on my findings to you.

This is a picture that my latest client has enlarged on canvas and can I tell you, that I love canvas. I know, it is pricey, but it is so amazing how it makes a picture come to life and feel tangible. I have also gained a love for metallic paper. It gives a different feel to a shot.....a glisten and sheen that is so fun and captivating.

Sorry for the dreadfully long dialog.

90 - Exercise

We are working on getting more fit and our kids have taken notice and have wanted to join us. Here they are getting fit with us. I had to snap these shots quickly so I could get back to it. It was fun and cute to watch them until they started bumping into us and throwing us off balance.

88 - ♫I Like Em Plump, I Like Em Juicy♫

I don't actually love Strawberry's, but I do think they are very delicious looking. All the little seed things bug me. I am a texture girl when it comes to food.

And FYI, my post title is from Madagascar, thanks to Motomoto. It just popped in my head when I was trying to think of a title for this post.

85 - Snip Snip

Picture day is coming up and thought it was time for haircuts. I took Bradyn once when he was really small and ended up having to shave it all off when I got home. So I have always just taken the clippers to him myself. I also would cut the girls hair myself. I really don't know what I'm doing, but I guess I'm cheap. Cousin Ashley is awesome and DOES know what she is doing. So I wanted to leave it to a professional this time.... thanks Ashley!!

Since this is a momentous occasion for all of them I felt it important to include a picture of each of them.

84 - Crunch Time

Growing up my Mom made our Easter dresses each year. I always looked forward to her creations, some of which I have kept. She made all three of her daughters wedding dresses and my daughters' blessing dresses. She is an excellent seamstress. I have tried to learn from her. I am not as good as her (I lack the patience), but I enjoy trying. I thought I would give it a go this year and of course I am a procrastinator. One down....one more to go.

83 - One On One

So I took my boy out to see Diary of a Wimpy Kid that he has wanted to see so badly. I wanted to have some alone time with him and it was fun. I smuggled my camera in and took a couple of shots from the hip. Everyone seemed to be sitting behind us and I didn't want to get kicked out for my LCD screen lighting up the joint. So a couple of shots was all I took. Caught a sliver of him laughing which I loved.

He is so funny. He is at a fun age. He gets all embarrassed when there is interaction with another girl in the movie. I have also been informed that he would not go with me to a Mother/Son dance if there ever was one like in the movie. I love hearing him laugh and watching his reactions to things in the movie.

Having the kids one on one is so fun. You see a different side of them. He felt special so he was on his best behavior and he opens up more and is more loving. I want to make it a regular thing to take each one out.

I have to store up these moments and thanks to this challenge I took a picture to remember it that I may otherwise have not.

I love this boy.
