In thinking about taking on the project I felt it would be exposing me more than I am used to. So just as an onion has many layers, so do each one of us (according to Shrek). It also ties in to photography as a tool I use in the editing process. By tackling this project I hope to grow personally as well as professionally during this next year. I will struggle with posting them each day, but will take the pictures and post them as soon as time allows. Enjoy the journey with me.

233 - Birthday Boy

Happy Birthday to my big boy who turned 9. He wanted an Astro Boy cake so I did my best. I am not a expert, but the kids get the drift and like them anyways. Someday I would love to take some classes and get some neat and different techniques, but I'm in no hurry. Hope he had a great day. Love you to the stars and back!!!

Thanks to the hubby for the shot as I was holding the cake.

231 - Preparation

I have a fun idea for my daughters late 4 year pictures. Just a couple of things to finish up before I take her out for her shoot. I will post when I get a chance to take her out.

229 - Squash

Anyone want some? We have plenty.
I like the squash, but hate the bumpy texture. It reminds me of a skin rash or hives and makes me itch.

228 - Barn Stories

Apparently I am feeling reminiscent. I remember tanning on the side of our barn with my Mom and watching the owls come and go.

227 - Logging...zzzzz's

A long time ago I fell asleep hugging a log very similar to this one. It brought back memories. (Don't feel like typing the whole story right now). All I will say is.....instructed to watch horses while on a break hunting. Woke up with just an imprint of the log on my face and no horses.

226 - Hospitality

Hospitality was greatly enjoyed when we ventured to an old mining town over the weekend. We had a wonderfully fun, relaxing, and educational time (loved learning the history of the town). Thanks for being our awesome friends. We love you and not because of your recreational vehicles and lovely get away cabin. :)

225 - Eh....What's Up Doc?

Our one and probably only carrot for the year. It sure was pretty, but didn't taste as good as it looked. May cancel my carrot raising for next year.

223 - Contemplating

This is carried over from my trip over the weekend because I wanted to include it.
I had gone to take some pictures of the canyon and walked back to put my camera away. My son was walking up to me and he wanted to go look where I had been. We walked back over near the canyon edge and sat and talked. I rarely take time to soak up life, to enjoy each millisecond. But for this brief moment, listening to my son's stories of the day and the goings on of his mind.....I relished it. The gentle moment shared between mother and son was imprinted on my brain. His sweet smile, his eager gaze at the moon, and his multitude of questions of the world was priceless. I had left my camera at the car, but wanted to capture this moment for my own reviewing, so I took a quick shot by the car. It doesn't do my feelings at the time justice, but I will look at this and know that my love for this sweet boy is as deep as the canyon we looked over.

221 - Flaming Gorge Cliff Jumping

We got a good one without your flailing, babe. Wished I could have joined you all. But due to current circumstances I was reduced to watching with envy.

218 - Pink Clouds

This is dedicated to my sister, Nannette.

Pink Clouds, pink clouds everywhere all ablaze
Over mountains and trees as I gaze
I wish you could go with me to see
The beautiful clouds sail over the sea
Every night about 5:30
I go out and come in all dirty

There are two more lines, but I can't remember what they are. The reason I dedicate this to my sister is that whenever I would see pink clouds I would recite this poem. Ever since 4th grade when I made it she would hear it and it would drive her nuts. So this goes out to you Nett. I guess you should feel good that I think of torturing you every time I see a beautiful pink sunset, and know a content smile creeps across my face. Love you!!!

What would a photo op be without the "silly" shot. I never feel like I truly portray "silly".

212 - Gone Fishin'

Sorry for the sun burnt hands, Uncle T. I know it was received with love.

Happy anniversary to my favorite husband. Our 11 years has been unforgettable, well considering my recurring amnesia, to my knowledge it has been unforgettable. Love you forever

. I should have done a picture of us, but was busy having fun at the cousin retreat. Thanks Aunt Cathy and Uncle Tom!

208 - Smellography

Are there ever moments where you wish you could capture the smell and feel of the moment. This was one such night. The cool breeze blowing across my face with the smell of rain preceeding the storm to follow. I love to close my eyes and let my other senses take hold and imprint the moment on my brain and hope it can be retrieved in the future. This was my attempt to capture the moment in sight, smell, and touch. I am afraid I may be the only one to feel it as I am the one who was there. But it helps to make the moment easier to access for me with a photo.
