In thinking about taking on the project I felt it would be exposing me more than I am used to. So just as an onion has many layers, so do each one of us (according to Shrek). It also ties in to photography as a tool I use in the editing process. By tackling this project I hope to grow personally as well as professionally during this next year. I will struggle with posting them each day, but will take the pictures and post them as soon as time allows. Enjoy the journey with me.

75 - Heroes In Science

So this is what Bradyn wanted to be for hero day...a scientist. He loves science and was excited to be one for a day. He was even all for me taking his picture. He even came up with the idea to use small jars with water like beakers and I just added a little food coloring to add some color. I love my boy.

74 - Hero?

This week is spirit week and the kids' school. Today is hero day (not including super hero's) and Leena came up with the idea to be me. I think she probably got it from someone in her class, not that she wouldn't have thought of it, but because I don't feel very heroish as of late and I think my mommy skills are being affected with some nearby kryptonite. Needless to say, I am still very flattered and it touches my wee little heart. So we threw out some ideas of how she wanted to dress up and she chose mommy the "photographer". She wore an outfit that she thought looked like something I have and found some glasses. I think she looks much cooler in hers than I do in mine. My husband suggested I pull out an old pair from when I was a kid and just pop the lenses out. I got glasses when I was 8 so they would probably fit, but I didn't want her to be made fun of and history day was yesterday. (I should scan in some old pics for fun and let everyone have a good laugh). She then did her hair with her bangs to the side like mine (hers hang all in front). I tried to convince her to take a throw away camera to school, but she didn't want to so I outfitted her with my plastic one with cautions of care. I suppose I may be doing something right when I feel as though I am doing all wrong. To have her want to be like me is the best compliment from my sweet girl....even if it is just for fun.
I thought it was fitting to catch my reflection in her glasses.

I will have some pictures of my boy tomorrow and what he chose.

73 - Thoughts In A Bubble

Still trying to catch up from the trip and I stopped to spend time with my girl and not with my computer. It is making me contemplate some things. How life seems to slip passed and you wonder what happened. I don't want to wonder so...... I need to make some changes. My kids are only kids once. I want to laugh more with them and teach better with them and learn clearer with them.

72 - Regroup

I did not take a picture this day since we arrived very early in the morning. The day was spent sleeping and laundry. Thank you G and G Cabe for a fabulous time. We love you and miss you already.
This is a shot I took of the wind blowing the Texas grass.

71 - WHEW!

We turned off in Tucumcari, New Mexico (very cool town) before the storm got too bad. Woke up and roads were all closed. So glad we didn't keep going, but traffic was horrible after the opened the road, can you tell? Felt bad for those who got caught in it that we saw on the side of the road, but made me grateful for so much. So glad we made it safe and sound. Side note: I am sick of semi's!

70 - On The Road Again

Hitting the pavement on rubber wheels for our 20 hour journey. Went Route 66 way, checked out the museum in Clinton, Oklahoma and took the old Route 66 side roads whenever we could...until they ended and we had to turn around (they should really put up signs BEFORE you get to the end of the road).

69 - One More Day

One last day full of tractor and mule ridin', smoked brisket mmmmm, and beautiful, warm sun that my skin soaked up with a sigh. What a perfect day for a send off.

68 - Happy St. Patty's Day

In my attempt to find a four leaf clover in Arkansas, this is what I found. Something that I thought looked like clover, but after noticing itchy blisters on my hand, I am inclined to think otherwise. :( Moss on a white oak, and purple blooms waking from winter.

59 - Creepy?

No...it's just my son's Indiana Jones lego guy. But, sure feels creepy. Love the extreme macro technique found here (thanks Travis J). This is a SOOC (straight out of camera) shot.

58 - Custom Thoughtfulness

This is a custom designed ring by the groom for his bride. The silver band sits inside the ring and the emeralds are her birthstone and the smaller stones below are the birthstones of her children. I thought this was so thoughtful and tender.

55 - Not Quite

Not quite spring, but close. Close enough that the snow won't stay long and melts quickly creating reflections among the new buds.

54 - Depth Of Field

I was out for a run and ran back to play in the frost a little. Nothing fancy...I just liked how it illustrates a focus line.
