In thinking about taking on the project I felt it would be exposing me more than I am used to. So just as an onion has many layers, so do each one of us (according to Shrek). It also ties in to photography as a tool I use in the editing process. By tackling this project I hope to grow personally as well as professionally during this next year. I will struggle with posting them each day, but will take the pictures and post them as soon as time allows. Enjoy the journey with me.

267 - Speedster

Tonight was Pinewood derby night. The excitement was intense. Bradyn got 4th place, which was a surprise since we hadn't been able to spend the time on it that we wanted. The orange blur is Bradyn's car "Speedster" and he got first in this heat, that's why no other car is visible yet. He was so tickled. It was fun to watch his excitement and that his friends were all at the top of the board too.

Can you tell, I love fall.

265 - Imagination

Sitting down editing and my Sophie was busy entertaining herself. She was watching the Care Bears exercise movie and got all of their Care Bears and other animals to watch and participate. She said they were exercising with her. I couldn't resist taking a picture of her imagination. They look a little tired now. It must have been a tough workout.

264 - Gathering Dust

It is difficult to get anything done on the computer when it crashes. So it sits gathering dust. Thank you once again to my ever capable husband. Yes, I will be cleaning my keyboard.

263 - Necessities and Growing Bellies

Thought I would take a picture of a necessity when the weather starts to turn cold. I love wearing slippers around the house. It keeps me nice and toasty. As I looked down to take the shot I realized my view of my feet is receeding. My belly is getting in the way, so good bye feet....until I see you sometime in December.

Stumbled upon this gal, right off the side of the rode. I stayed in my car just in case.

261 - Attempt

This was a last minute attempt to get some pix of my three kids together and my sons single shot. Not such a good plan on my part, but when I get an idea in my head, I can't get it out. Light was failing, kids were rushed and annoyed, first location was a bust and found this in a panic. Can you see where this is going? Get out, hurry up, stop goofing around, come on think of the ice cream I promised, please smile normal, get back here, don't run off.....These are just a few things I may have yelled sweetly uttered when trying to satisfy the idea in my head. The one of my son I'm happy with, but the few group shots I got, he has his funny little smirk, but I guess that truly captures "him". Frustration was the emotion that spilled out of my mouth. He did get an ice cream because like I told him, "I keep my promises." I know, I felt harsh, but I couldn't love them anymore and they love me and my crazy anyways.
Also, these are the skirts I made from this post to go with their boots

260 - Scouting

Aspens are some of my favorite trees. I love the wind chime sound they make when the wind blows through the leaves. The bright green in summer and vibrant yellow and orange in the fall is so beautiful. I love when they are mixed with evergreens in the fall. Such bright yellow against the deep green. I actually thought about and missed them when I lived in Arkansas.

Isn't he cute? And trained for the camera so well.

257 - The Simple Things

It's the simple things that make me happy. Like bright orange clearance stickers. Especially when there is an additional 50% off the bright orange price. I was very happy. Didn't feel right spending full price on clothes I will only wear for two months. Couple of outfits for the kids too. It is a never ending cycle keeping everyone clothed. But love when I can do it for less.

256 - Sleeping Beauty

My husband has been busy lately and has been absent on the weekends so I get to take turns having my little ones snuggle with me. There is something so enjoyable about watching little's ones while they sleep. I could watch them for hours. This one prays every night that she can dream of rainbows and butterflies and all the things she likes. I would love a peak.

255 - Registration Time

Registration time for a 14 year old car means scrambling to fix all the little problems that came up over the past year and money out the door. I can't complain though, Gwen has been a good car and hope she keeps it up for a while longer. Love my ever so talented and jack of all trades husband for all his hard work.
Here's to another year.

253 - Penelope

That's My Dough Girl. It's the chocolate dipped peanut butter cookie on the far right.
I love this place and their delicious cookies. Anytime I go to the photog store or downtown I make a point to stop. You should too. It is on 300 W in between 700 and 800 South. Let me know who your dough girl is.
I know another food post.

252 - Strips

What do you to with the left over pieces of pie crust? Whenever my Mom would make a pie growing up she would use the scraps and make strips. Just put the scraps on a cookie sheet and sprinkle..a lot...of cinnamon sugar on them and bake them. I am keeping the tradition going Mom. Mmmm very tasty snack as your waiting for the pie to cook. Excited for pie season.
I realize I am posting a lot about food. I guess you can see where my condition(baby on board) has put my thinking.

250 - Independence

This shot makes me think of my kids growing up. They are so independent and I love that. I want them to be eager to take on life's tasks and challenges and want to try to accomplish them on their own. I think that it will help them as they get older and become adults. The down side is that I don't get my baby's to be baby's for very long. All my kids choose to get up with an alarm, take there own shower, choose and dress themselves, and my 6 year old is into making her own school lunch herself. My 4 year old even prefers to shower. I wanted to capture the rare occasion she bathes and that's what sparked this contemplation. These are just a few things they request independence on. Don't get me wrong, I love not having to push them or do all these things for them all the time. But I just realize that they want to grow up too fast. I wish that children could savor childhood and enjoy the simplicity of it. They are too quick to want responsibility and the chores of adulthood. But I guess they would be less likely to grow up and be responsible if that weren't the case. I guess I will just have to savor their childhood for them. Watch them figure out life, reach milestones, and overcome challenges and savor those moments as they grow. I will cherish my cuddles and kisses, being mommy nurse to their bumps and bruises, and being the comforting shoulder they need to cry on for as long as I can; while I watch them become all that they hope to become and more.

Saw a similar shot on another website and was inspired and contemplative.

My creation while playing with the girls. I made Bradyn a weed because it seemed more boyish. I know I've posted chalk art before, but we do that a lot.

239 - Question?

So I am wondering....why is it when a girl gets pregnant she suddenly develops a whole in her lip for food and drink to spill down her front and make her look constantly sloppy? Thanks to my friends generous treats coated in powdered sugar, I wore the treat. Sitting down editing and munching on lovely treats. I look down and found this. Thanks Amy!

238 - Blessings

Had a shoot for a friend today and loved her blessing dress she had hanging in her girls' room. I thought it looked so neat and vintage. Turns out it was a baby dolls gown. Love it!

237 - Salsa

Had such fun making and canning salsa from mine and my Mother-in-laws plentiful gardens.
